Confidential, authorship-first academic support

Thesis & Dissertation Support

A thesis or dissertation is a long argument built over months or years, often with limited supervision time. We support you at each stage with structured feedback, methodological guidance and examiner-style questions, so you can make sound decisions and write a thesis you can defend.

Overview

Dissertation problems rarely stay in one chapter. A vague research question produces an unfocused literature review, an unjustified method and a discussion with nothing clear to say. That is why our support is organized both by stage — planning, proposal, chapters and completion — and by degree level, since an honors thesis, a master's thesis, a PhD and a professional doctorate are judged differently.

Terminology varies too. In the UK, a "dissertation" is usually the project in an undergraduate or taught master's degree and a "thesis" is the doctoral work, examined in a viva by an internal and an external examiner. In the US the words are largely reversed: a master's thesis and a doctoral dissertation, supervised by an advisor or chair with a committee, and examined at a defense. Many other systems combine features of both. We use your institution's terms and work to its regulations.

Throughout, the work remains yours. We coach, explain, review drafts and ask the questions your examiners are likely to ask. We do not write chapters for submission.

Who this is for

  • Undergraduate students writing an honors thesis or final-year dissertation
  • Master's students (MA, MSc, MBA, MPH, LLM and others) with a thesis or dissertation component
  • PhD candidates at any stage from proposal to corrections
  • Professional doctorate candidates (DBA, EdD, DNP, PsyD) balancing research with work
  • Researchers writing in English as an additional language who want clear structural feedback
  • Part-time and distance students with limited access to supervision

Proposal Development

A proposal must persuade reviewers that your study is worth doing and doable. Proposal support covers the whole document and its most-questioned component: the theoretical or conceptual framework.

How we approach this work

Alignment first

We check that problem, gap, questions, framework, method, results and conclusions form one consistent line before polishing any single chapter. Most serious examiner criticism starts with misalignment.

Your supervisor leads

Our feedback supports your supervisor's guidance and your program's regulations. When advice seems to conflict, we help you understand the reasoning and raise it with your supervisor.

Examiner's-eye feedback

We read drafts as an examiner or committee member would, anticipating the questions and criticisms your work is likely to face and helping you prepare to answer them.

Coaching, not ghostwriting

You write every chapter. We explain options, annotate drafts, model techniques on short examples and review revisions, so you understand and can defend each decision.

Frequently asked questions

Is dissertation coaching allowed by universities?

Most universities allow students to seek feedback, tutoring and methodological advice, provided the submitted work is their own. Rules on editing and outside help differ, so check your handbook and acknowledge assistance where required. We design our support to stay within those boundaries.

Can I get help at any stage, or only from the start?

Any stage. Some students start with a topic; many come mid-way with one difficult chapter, or at the end with corrections. We begin by understanding where you are and what your supervisor has said.

What is the difference between a thesis and a dissertation?

It depends on the country. In the UK, dissertation usually means an undergraduate or taught master's project and thesis means doctoral work; in the US it is largely the opposite. The expectations at each level matter more than the label, and we work with whatever terms your institution uses.

What is the difference between a viva and a defense?

A UK-style viva is usually a private oral examination with an internal and external examiner, leading to an outcome such as minor or major corrections. A US-style defense is typically a presentation followed by questions from your committee, sometimes open to the public. Formats vary, and we prepare you for the one you face.

Will my supervisor know I've had outside help?

Only if you tell them or your institution requires a declaration. We encourage transparency; many supervisors welcome students who seek additional feedback, especially on methods or writing.

Do you work in my discipline?

We support dissertations across business, education, health, social sciences, humanities and STEM fields. When we scope your request, we tell you honestly whether we can support your specific topic and methods.

How do you keep my work confidential?

Your drafts, data and ideas are used only to support you. We do not share, publish or reuse them.
