Choosing within research ethics & compliance
Ethics and compliance work has two sides. Ethics applications to an IRB or research ethics committee explain risks, benefits, consent, confidentiality and participant protections, supported by consent forms and participant information sheets written in plain language. Data management plans set out how data will be collected, stored, protected, shared and preserved, often to a funder's template, and must reflect data-protection law such as the GDPR where it applies.
The two are closely linked: what you promise participants on the consent form must match what the data management plan says will happen to their data. Only your committee or funder can approve a submission, and we do not give legal advice, but we help you meet the stated requirements and keep your documents consistent.
